Jetavator vs. Place Diverter

Chad and I were discussing the differences last night. Looks like the Jetavator up/down pivot is BEFORE the steering pivot and the Place pivot is AFTER the steering pivot. Also seems like a HUGE difference is that you need a Jetavator bowl to use one to where a Place diverter will fit any standard bowl.

I don't think the bowl is special.  It is just turned sideways.  Look at the pipe plug.  Only one is on top.  I believe the Jetovator is also all electric and cables.  No hydraulics.

a jetovator has no hydraulics, just an electric motor, 2 relays, a trim sensor, and a worm drive, i just had to learn how mine worked so i could wire it...fun stuff.alot of electrical to go bad though, if mine werent 1979 build and still working perfectly i would be skeptical of how long it would last.

I need to find a divertor or jetovator to make my lil boat throw a tail . I have most of a divertor , but its missing parts and I am unsure if its worth trying to find the parts .

Post pics of the parts you have.  There is really not much to them.  maybe someone will have what you need.

I'll go snap a few pics . I have been told to just get a complete one , but if I can get this one to work it might be alot cheaper than replacing it .

i see this thread was about jetavator vs placediverter,  my understanding of the jetavator was for trimming the boat and not so much about rooster tails,  i've seen one jetavator that did a nice rooster tail,  but it was modified guite abit,  if i was wanting a rooster tail then my choice would be a placediverter on a spit bowl so i could wedge it to give the effect i was looking for... just my .02 worth  :smile16:
