Always wanted to ask that question, have seen several like that?Patchman said:Wonder why they put the scoop on backwards? think.gif
You are correct about the Fiberglass scoop, I ment the "Normal" Scoop, I have seen those backwards...?? I can't say if they were on the Water though, I was thinking maybe for towing it down the road with no filters in it? Keep the Birds and Beer Cans out of the Engine?Devilman said:Only boats I have seen running backwards scoops was some circle boats, so my assumption would be to keep water from getting into them during a race. I have turned mine around & run it backwards when getting caught in the rain.
Never seen one of those fiberglass monsters intentionally mounted & run backwards though, that is a first for me, lol...
Gotcha.RandyJET said:California makes you run them backwards so you dont burn anybody with a backfire. If you have a legal certified spark arrester then you can run a forward facing scoop but most wont do this so they run them backwards. This si the law I did not just create the reason.
