CJ, this the way to go.  Nobody else in the world is going to bid on it.  You will win it for the starting bid!

I don't have family up there but I have thought about it.  my biggest fear is I get up there and it will need all teh same work done to it that I am doing to mine now so now I have spent gas, time and money to buy something I have to spend almost everything I am spending on mine. As many of you can attest to just because you buy a boat they say is lake ready doesn't mean it is.  If I went up there I would have to be able to get it for $500 without the motor.  I don't need that motor and I would be that is where all their money is tied up in it.

Ill make ya a deal you find out how far that boat is from omaha NEb and if its close and they will pull it to the airport I will go look at it for ya if you think you can make a deal.  on it without motor.  Or if its close to the airport you pay for my rental car and Ill drive to were its at.  Thats up to you just trying to get ya on the water so you know what its like.  I bet you that you wouldnt have to do all that to this one if they put that much money into the motor I dont think they would do it to a boat that was JUNK !

I appreciate the offers guys but after this weekend I will be a lot closer to getting on the water in my CJ.  This one has been for sale long enough that I bet it will still be for sale this summer when I go to Iowa and I can go look at it.  It was previously on ebay for 2500 starting bid and 3500 buy it now I doubt anyone is going to bid on it as it sits especially without shots of it running in the water.

I also talked to Tom at JPB and a guy out of Georgia, Tim Spears, about the ChryslerJet pumps.  Tim had a couple they tried to get to run and they are very inefficient designs so 400HP really isn't going to move that boat any faster just burn more gas.  At least I know I will reside my CJ to permanent daycruiser status.

I am not going to take my family out on something I know is not safe.  Most people don't know something is not safe until something happens.  Just ask Cliff why did he have to redo the Crusader when it just needed a motor rebuild?  We have all seen it and with a 40 year old boat that wasn't designed well to begin with I couldn't assume anything about it.
