How to trace hull history with out HIN?

Last registered in '96? Ouch... Using the TX numbers, TPW can give you the name of the last registered owner. Think it costs a couple bucks & you gotta do it in writing, they won't just tell ya over the phone.

Not sure how much good that'll do ya from it bein so out of date. You sure there ain't a HIN#? Probably just painted over?

Thats how mine is, you can see it, but its not really readable.

How good is the paint job? Is this something you are looking at, or you have it already....

Paint job is toast. I have it now and I have the documents where it was towed and stored by a wrecker company. I'm not worried about the registering of it, I just want to know what it is.

If mfg before a certain date they did not require a HIN I think 1972 if it had a Hin then there should be another as they are reqired to put on another in an unconspicous spot under gunnel, deck,Etc  look hard and long  :smile16:

Hey Patch, is that your new project. What happened to the pissed off cat. I liked that one. Always exciting to see what does Patch have for an Avatar today.  :smile29: I have been pretty busy at work and haven't had much time for forum. I have a HIN on my 1984 TX-19 but still can't find out much about it. Apparently the company in Houston that laid up the hull is out of business. It's a sound hull though so I guess WTF.

I like a little variety when it comes to avatar. Thanks for the positive input on the hull. I'm sure I will have lots of questions on the build. The Hawaiian has spoiled me so far. I hope this hull doesn't live up to the BOAT motto! P.S. All you Ford haters, I'm in the market for any Ford parts you got laying around.  :smile16:

Depending on how deep the bilge is on that thing, I have a 10 qt. pan for a 429/460 I'd make a deal on.

My boat does not have a HIN anywhere, the other boat I have doesn't either, they were both manufactured before HIN's were required.

Once I get a little further on the project, I will look you up. I have to address hull clean up first. :smile30:
