David McNeil of Weather Tech says it very well in recent ads.

Farouk (CHI) vowed to move manufacturing to Houston a couple of years ago.  I'm not completely sure but I believe they are manufacturing in Houston at this point.  Most guys won't know who they are but your wife/GF will.  I know because my wife is a hair dresser.

Supporting companies like these will make a difference.

Farouk does have a plant in Houston , but still does alot overseas as well . There is no way to tell if you are getting an American product , or a Chinese copy .

I bet that changes as stock rotates. I guarantee they will put made in USA on it if they can.

Who do you work for that you sell professional stylist tools?  I can't find anything that says his pro tools are made in USA.

I own a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon . I am not sure the tools are made in the US , but all of thier products are . I think they actually contract out the production of the Pro Tools .

Ah... Got cha.  My wife has been a stylist for ~18 years and has owns her own salon.  We have not had any issue with CHI products if you buy the professional line.  I  don't think Farouk had product other than tools.

We do support John Paul DeJoria other product on occasion.  :smile30:

EDIT:  I guess they do have wet products.  According to this all Farouk wet products are made in USA and all Digital irons are made in Houston.

CHI actually has all the same products as Paul Mitchell , they make color , styling products , shampoos , etc . But we have a really good deal with Paul Mitchell as a Focus Salon . We get free training for our stylists and a points program for all products that we buy , the points can be traded in for free Paul Mitchell products . Last month I ordered a new set of $350 scissors , for free with my points .

I realize that now.  I guess I just have never seen the CHI wet products at any of our suppliers.  Dawn clients like change too much for us to align with one particular product line.  There are pro and cons to both.  Where is your salon?

It's really sad that a tool company like Mac is so expensive and most of their tools are made in China.  :smile15:
