when i came out of the cove in to the lake, i wheelied the boat and the motor sounded fine. but after the
nose came down it started missing like it had fowled plug's or coil breaking down. and after slowing down and letting the boat settling in ( the boat ride's with the nose a little high ) it idled ok. tried this a couple of more time's before putting it back on the trailer. checked it out in the ramp parking lot. cked the plug's but none fouled BUT i did notice that they were a little lighter tan than they normally run, but dismissed it. ck the carb's and timing, the valve's and every thing i could think of, but to no avail. so i chalked it up to maybe the coil.
had one act the same way before craping out. spent monday trying to figure out what was going on. the coil turned out to be ok. every thing ckecked out. soooooooooo decided to check the fuel, BIG SHOCK
appr. 11/2 gallon's left in tank. had 10 gallon's in main tank when i left to come down. normally when i make a road trip i will run some alum tape around the gas cap. was in such a hurry that i forgot to do it this time.
after doing a little calculating on fuel left plus what little i might have burned on the lake it just did not add up.
5to6 gallon's short. the pump was not picking any fuel up unless the nose was extreamly high
hence the plug's showing a lighter color than normal . i stopped twice on the way down to eat and both time's at truck stop's, who ever siphned it out i hope they did not swollow any of it or put it in anything with a catlitic coverter on it . think.gif naaaawwwwwwwww i hope they got a good shot .
