With any luck, within the next month or, I'll be pulling the heads off my BBC to change these old tired springs.  They have been on these heads for around 9 years now.  They're motivated by a Comp Cams XR292R solid roller cam sporting .666 lift.  I'm almost certain the springs I have now were made by Comp Cams and they have proven their worth to me.  However, I know that just because the ones manufactured 10 years ago were great springs doesn't mean there's not something better available now or, Comp Cams quality hasn't gone down.  Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

I must correct.  The first 5 years they just sat installed and half were in some state of compression.  Alot of use either way I guess.

I have used K Motion for years, they work for me. Are you running 1.550 or 1.625? Doubles or triples?

I'm not sure on the size.  I need to measure them so I can start shopping.  I'm pretty sure the ones I have are doubles....

Have used K Motions as well nice springs but got a nice price as well. But comp has been around forever and I'm currently using Comp srings now with a 728 lift solid roller and turning close to 7000rpm and still going. Springs are nothing to play with, a weak spring can bring on a dropped valve and possible head loss. I try to replace mine every 2 years, try! Good luck.

Not scared!  Just respectful.  You have to respect Chevy HP or it'll toss ya!  :smile30:

When you build that Chevy powered TX you'll understand.  lol
