Stringer Question

I am looking at buying a 1983 19' Liberator Pickle Fork Jet. The boat however does not have full stringers...it only has 1/4 stringers, basicall just enough to mount the engine in. What are the pro's and con's of this design? Thanks

1/4 are fine as long as you are not throwing a ton of HP at it.
I have 1/4 in my sanger and i have no issues thus far.

What about as far as being in rough water?

I mean would I have to worrry more about one with 1/4 stringers breaking vs. a full stringer boat?

Hell I sure hope that isn't the case , if so I am doomed . My Sleekcraft has no stringers at all  :smile26:

Seriously though if the boat was put together correctly you should be fine .

My Liberator has only 1/4 stringers and I have a blown motor in it.

full stringers are great if your are drag racing the boat, If you could slow down a video of a boat lunching you would see it twist all over the place and so on, but buy adding full stringers a boat will run more consonantly run after run..
