I am going to bring this up on it's own thread.
I would like to see if we can get anyone from our group to make the road trip in Oct to Parker Strip to meet up with the SoCal and the Skagen guys. I personally would like to make this trip i think we can do it as leaving on Wednesday after work and getting back home on Monday. Just trying to see if anyone else would like to show them how we do it in Texas.

Buddy of mine in Havasu says you'll ruin your boat towing it that far! He said his trailer looked like it had been sandblasted! See ya when you get back! :smile12:

I've been to Parker/Havasu a few times, IMO, it's too far, too commercialized, and WAY too expensive for my wallet. And the majority of boats are way out of my league(40k+). Gettin old, I guess. Ya'll take pictures.

I really don't know about us gettin out there this year. Looks pretty doubtful actually. Last time it came up for some of us, we were talking about meeting somewhere in the middle so it wasn't such a one-sided drive. We had settled on Elephant Butte, New Mexico. Didn't get much further than that, trying to plan around so many people is difficult. Just ended up on the back burner & never happened...

I wouldn't care about Havasu myself, but I think the Parker strip would be cool as hell. Seems to be more of a laid back atmosphere, kind of a throw back to the "river kulture" from back in the day.

Shit, I got stuff on the grill, I'm gonna have go out there & throw in some Creedence now...

Lived in Phoenix for 14 years been there done that. :smile15:

Its fun once, but not worth 20 hrs of driving pulling a trailer, then 20 hrs back to clean up the boat. :smile14:

Half way is still just the other side of El Paso for us. Vanhorn is the half way mark to Phoenix.

I like the idea but the distance is too far for me also.
How about all the local sites getting together for a gathering at someplace more central.

When we get the Taylor Boat Club together at Broken Bow we bring around 25 boats from all around.
That is a great lake that is not too far away and pulls from Oklahoma, Ark. Mo., Louisiana and Texas.

There are good accomidations as well.
Jet boat cove is a great place to run.

Just a thought.....

Yea, Broken Bow is a good place to meet, but still a good 8-10 hour trip for the guys down south of Houston. Nowhere near as far as Havasu. We made the trip to Vegas a few weeks back and that's an awful drive. Maybe we can figure somethin out  :smile12:

been there, done that whole scene, Havi sux unless you got a 30 footer and love cops. Parker is kick ass though and the Roadrunner is a lot of fun at night. However if youve never been it is definitly worth a flight and a boat rental just to see how the other half lives, and how pretty lake havisu city is and camp at crazy horse, fun stuff

When I went and picked up my boat we met at Havasu.  Spent a day on Havasu and 2 days on Parker.  Parker was a blast.  Those guys drag out some serious HP.    I will have a baller boat one day!!  It took us 22 hours to get to Havasu and a little longer to get back pulling my boat.  Great people and know how to party!!
