That is a crazy looking lake. I think we can land a plane on a grass strip on that  Costello Island.  :smile16:

If you are considering this lake, get ahold of Mr. R Scott. He has a friend who has a resort over there and he is very familiar with that lake! :smile30:

Well after talking with some other folks we are going to keep it on Whitney. Trey WILL BE DOING A FiSH FRY on Saturday evening after the run for the participants. I don't know about a date change as of yet. As we will be racing in Hampton, Virgina the week before.

Mark your calendars! October 13th the 4th annual S&J Marine Lake Whitney poker run is set. $20 dollars a hand. Yes you can buy multiple hands! Drivers/players meeting at 10am at the Steele Creek ramp. We will do a raft up lunch. Bring your sandwiches! Followed by a fish fry courtesy of Trey Haggard! Apparently we ended up with it. It's too big for Shelley and me and also more expensive. I'm going to call and change to a smaller room on Monday if anyone wants to scoop it up.

Heads up guys... This last weekend there was a lot of debris floating at Plowmans. Possum Kingdom started letting water out today. We will check out the debris situation Sunday and let everyone know the conditions of the water.
Safety is our utmost concern and if we feel there is to much stuff floating in the lake we will have to cancel it. So stay tuned.

Hopefully it will calm down by then  .. Once Granbury closes the gates it will get better in Whitney pretty quick ..  But you are right , need someone to do a physical water inspection a few days before the event .. Sure don't want to hit and floating logs and damage a boat and hurt anyone ..
