Anybody running a MSD crab cap low profile distributor?  If so, how tall is it from the base of the slip collar to the top of the cap?  Thanks in advance!

Yep, I do use an MSD crab distributor and it sit right at 3 1/2" above the bottom of the slip collar.  It's in a tall deck motor.
You're talking about the distributor for use with a crank trigger, I hope.  MSD also makes another low profile distributor that a crank trigger is not used, it sits quite a bit higher though.

Thank you!  Yes, I'm talking about PN 8489.  I already have the crank trigger too.  :smile16:

It may not be the best thing you'll ever do, but having a crank trigger rates very high on that scale.
My motor has been apart several times to freshen, and every year the distributor comes out to prime the oil system, and the timing has never changed.

As a suggestion, locate an old crab distributor cap and drill a hole in the top, above the #1 spark plug wire location.  Use the sight hole to line up the rotor and #1.
It'll make life easier.
