i have come to realize that the two best motors ever built are the early FORD model naturally aspirated 7.3 diesel and early ford 300. better known has the hot -water six. i see why ford stop making them and the reason why is. you dont have to work on them. my work truck 7.3 has 370,000 miles and has never had anything but a oil and air filter change, and glow plugs. i have had dozens of different hands driving it at work. the young punk kid type that dont care about the bosses junk. they cant even tear the ole 7.3 up..........just sayin
Dont think either of those power plant options would get out of there own way in a boat. Guess if you have a tug boat the 7.3 would be ok.  Dont recall seeing any fords in the hunt at the lake.  Think I'll stick with my lil Chevy :smile16:

was wonderin when someone was gonna say it!!!  :smile17:

BuddyL, No
I have not been to that lake yet.  I'm still trying to make it to Sommerville.  Is Bryan a good lake to run on?  Any fast boats in your area.

Dodge 1 ton and the CUMMINS. The only true diesel. From the start. No adapting from something else, and WORK HARD and look good.  Except for a peterbilt 359EXHD and CAT power. 3406 or 3408(my favorite)

sometimes it is good. SDBA had a event on it about 5 years ago. only problem was that when the wind picked up all the boats were sinking at the exit ramp. it has a pretty good beer joint- club on it and owner has rights to lake and refused to let lucas have a event on it last year. said it would ruin his business for the weekend. lucas was only gonna give him 30% of winnings. what a idiot crazy.gif

In the Marshall area you can find a few nice jets, there is a blown alky jet here that ran 7.17 in the qtr. @143.7 thats pretty nasty in my book. Think you may be talking about Scotts TX19 and it is a really sharpass ride dont think he cares too much about being the fastest since sinking with the flat bottom. (yes he went down with the boat) Think he may be smarter than I am, I didnt learn much from my blow over. crazy.gif
