Devils advocate here… So people who by a house next to an airport runway or right next to a train tracks, well after both have been running for years, do they have the right to then mandate new laws, city ordinances for noise etc?? Guess what you bought a house next to a runway or train tracks. Your obligation is to now deal with it. You made a choice but wait you want “big brother” to fix it for you.. I say go home peeps

Crusader this is not direct towards you but only making an observation from the other side.

just my .02

Sturat....no worries I can tell it wasn't a jab towards me.....however a train track and airport are quite a bit different than a group of people partying, disturbing the peace and polluting the lake. Airports and RR tracks are fixtures of economic prosperity and growth (Tax base)whereas people partying wildly in a cove doesn't help the community one bit. If you were to read the posts in the provided links you'll see that the city has had to hire a LE officer(s), purchase boats and police the partying because that part of the lake is in their jurisdiction. The partiers provide no economic benefit to the area and in fact are costing the taxpayers/landowners more money to police the area than what they are probably taking in.

Hey, I'm all about partying ina cove and having a good time but not at the expense of a home owners property rights and right to quite.

Beer funds (heavy laid-en with taxes, launch fee's douche bags having to pay fines cause they can not control themselves, food water ice while on the water all money to big brother. I agree that it only takes a few tools to mess it up for the masses.

My guess is that this party cove was a party cove way longer than most of the home owners have lived there. That is just a guess as i have no clue about lake Travis.

From what I have read on those other links your comment about the party cove being there longer than the homes is on target, but that right there will do it every time, seen it more than once.

And for the record, I live by train tracks & an airport & I'd rather listen to that than those shitty ass shrimp boat speakers like in that video, lol..... But to each their own.

X's 2 clap.gif No respect for the lake, the land or the other people. When we go to a place like, for instance Altair, we always leave the place better than it was when we got there by picking up the trash that others have left. I understand the home owners on this, if the "partyers" would respect the rights of the land owners they would not be having this problem, again, it's not everybody that's causing the problem but it only takes a few water heads to screw it up for everybody, and those few water heads are not only screwing it up for us but also for our kid's who won't have these places to go play.

People do still go to cow creek.  it is getting smaller and smaller as the lake level goes down.  in devils cove the oldest house down there can't be more than two year old.  most of the people that go down there are respectful and just enjoying themselves.  there has always been a a lot of police boat patroling the area.  it started with a noice law.  everyone turned it down and the police patro;s went up.  the new land owners are even hurting the party boat rentals that have tied up in the cove for 20 years.  I believe there is a movement by party boat rental companies and others that boat there to challenge if they can have a law like this.  I guess we will see who has better lawyers.  but it is things ike this that keep happening on travis that makes me happy that t will not be my home lake anymore.
