Time to put that heat pump on E heat.......... defroster not keeping up.  mine makes terrible noise when defroster is on but ac guy said normal?

out the front door and no one playing golf today?

Mine will do that also and like Wayne said , when the defrost cycle comes on , it sounds awful .. You can hear the compressor loading up and you think it going to blowup and them all of a sudden it will release and steam will go everywhere

yeah, on e heat just running only on electric heater.... no heat pump.... cost more on electric bill  too...... but lets compressor thaw out and blows hotter air on real cold days. when running straight electric heat compressor does not run.

I prefer to use heat pump as much cheaper to operate, but AC guy told me if moisture in air and temp falls in the 25 to 28 deg. range more efficient heat on e heat.

Being an old auto parts guy I have to go by what AC guy says..........
