So we spent last weekend in New Orleans for our son's 21rst birthday. First time for my wife and myself to visit there. That city is a trip. The air B & B that we stayed in was different to say the least. It is quite obvious that the place has flooded multiple times. But it was a cool place to crash. Basically an upstairs apartment that had 3 bedrooms. My only real complaint was that those 100 year old windows do not stop the 36 degree cold from coming in. The heater on the house didn't catch a break with us staying there! We where with in walking distance of the French quarter. So that made that aspect easy. It amazes me how many businesses are down there. I'm used to historic downtown areas being like a few streets. They appear to have a couple of miles of historic old buildings. I know my son said we walked 10 miles Saturday afternoon alone. The food we tried was amazing. By far my favorite aspect of New Orleans. If you haven't been, I would suggest going while the old buildings are still standing. I noticed a few that obviously had fallen down.
