Not planning on racing there  . Might go and watch ..

Why not race Marble Falls? I too will be new to "real" racing so I am just curious if there is a reason or something I don't know about racing there.

ONE HOT MOFO! :smile30:

That's a fact one of the hottest tracks i raced at, down in a hole no wind :smile15:
i use to wear a one peace firesuite w/ a 6 point full helmet harness restraint and the problem i use to encounter after sitting on the rope for some time was , and everything starts to happen fast you'r trying to hold the boat from turning sideway's  the yellow light's start , you fire the boat , close the helmet , throw it into gear ( HOPEN YOU JUDGE THE LIGHT'S RIGHT ) RED LIGHT  :smile20: , and let her rip hopin for a good light ,  :smile27:
and in my case just as i hit the light's the helmet viser would fog up.  :smile26: lol a few time's it got interesting .  :smile29:

I bet that was scary not being able to see very good and hitting the throttle like that .
I heard the same thing about Marble Falls, it is hot there !!!
Ft.Worth is also hot with just a few shade trees . That why I woulkd like to try the  race at Waco , plenty of trees to help to get away from some of the heat . I know it does not help while you out in the boat , but it sure helps when you are under one of those big Oak trees ..

Just wishing for a while . I will practice at the River this year and see if I can get it down driving with all the gear on . It makes a lot of difference . I got all suit up with the jacket , helmet and suit and it was fun just getting in the boat and getting confortable .. I can imagine being at the track doing all of this .. and hoping to get a good pass down .. It will be interesting for sure ..

I am going to need a lot of help since I have never done a professional race.. I just want to run the clocks and see what the boat will actually do on the clocks . I am asking a lot of question to get ready . I guess I will just have to pretend I am racing at the River this year .. I think it is more fun just playing at the River than a Professional race . You can;t get in the water to cool off and have fun at a race ..

If we can be of any help feel free to contact us here or at the tracks ! Don't know many that have not got hooked after their first race though  !    Hot ...... Tarzan can't take that kinda hot but when the boat in front of you leaves and you pull over into  the lanes and the lights start flashing .... let the fun begin !!

All these races being cancelled is the main reason I sold the SST and will probably finish out the year with a heavy lake boat.
I used a cool wrap most of the time sitting at the holding rope.  Don't know where you can get one, these days, but its a gell filled neck wrap that you put in your ice chest, get it cold and then right before going to the water put it around your neck.  By the way, there is no shade on the water in Waco.
As far as the experience of racing SDBA or IHBA, be careful.  The adrenial rush is addictive, the first time your pairing comes up and the track turns green, your heart rate has totally erased all memory of the last 30 minutes sitting on the holding rope in 100 degree temp.  Its a disease and there is no cure!
