Ashley and I have decided to start a new Hot Boat event at Cedar Ridge Park at Lake Belton.(Thanks to Texas Jet for giving us the idea to have it there). We would like to have it July17-19 next year because it seemed like there wasn't much going on around that time this year. If there are people interested, we would like to have t-shirts and koozies for sale along with FREE bbq on Saturday. Right now we just need to know who would be interested in attending and if July 17-19 would be a good weekend. I will post the link for the park tomorrow...

Still pretty close for you Sweet Addiction. Thanks Tim for the input. It did seem kind of dead around that time...
Sorry for deleting the previous thread...

:smile19:
Thanks, Trey

Didnt know about the Del Rio trip, but our event would be two weeks after. That should be plenty of time to heal up...
If that date is a problem we can move it to July 24-26. Its not set in stone quite yet... We can change it if need be.
Thanks for the input.

I lik ethe idea of lake Belton.  I know this years trip to Del Rio was cancelled due to low water in the lake. I talked to Steve the other day and he said the lake was 1 1/2 feet over , the fullest he has seen it. He mentioned the river for next year but was not sure if they would be in the moving stage at that time next year to north Texas. I could make it to Belton that would not be too far and hopefully I should be healed by then after my new surgery. I should have my new motor done by then also. Now would be the time to start thinking about events for next year. Who knows gas might be $1 gal next year. let me know if you need anything for door prizes like T-shirts.

We went to Stillhouse Hollow a couple of years ago, which is not terribly far from Lake Belton. Nice country up there....

Yeah Trey thanks for clearing that up about the thread, I was looking for it last night. I knew I hadn't drank that much, lol....

I vote to keep it July 17 thru 19. The Del Rio trip may or may not happen. The Belton trip is a definite go. We camped up there for 10 days at a time for about 6 years in a row. It's a beautiful lake that's very well suited for jet boats. A lot of calm water because much of the lake is like a river with high cliffs that protect you from the wind. Cedar Ridge is a cool park. It's near the end of a dead end canyon. Leaving the park and going out the canyon to the main part of the lake the water is usually like glass. It has clean bathrooms and showers and a roped off beach area for the kids. There are marinas on the lake and even a few resturants. Plenty of small coves to anchor up in. Oh, and it has a water fall. My kids realy liked that. It is one of my favorite lakes.

Sounds like a pretty sweet set up. We would probably be down for this. Is it a real waterfall, or a waterfall like at the Indian Lodge....

Yes, those are house boats.  I've stayed there a couple times myself and its a real nice lake!  Just make sure you bring plenty of rope for your anchor.  Its real deep in places!  The water's always clear too.  :smile15:

As organizer of this event, Trey know any shallow coves to hang out? Although it will no doubt be amusing to see people attempting to get back into their boats from deep water, (myself included), lol...

lmao lemme run out to the shop and see if i got something to make a winch pole to add to your boat!
i did see a rope ladder you can hang over the side of your boat,, i think it was in Overtons magazine.

LOL, winch pole on my boat won't do any good if I don't tie off to your boat. I can get in mine from deep water, not sure about you though, "slim"...... :smile23:
