I run the good mufflers in mine and I can tell the difference in the exhaust .. I love the sound of the open headers but not the lake patrols ..

The baffles do not quit it down as much as the mufflers do in my opinion . The water is what  really tones the exhaust down . I can really tell it when I run no water and then turn the water back on.

I have 2 pair of baffles, one set of the bassett style, and one set basset style cut in half lengthwise and rewelded, effectively passes the broomstick test only. I think you'd be happy with the bassetts. beware, now you will find any and all header leaks and loose rockers.... :smile28: also the added weight of the mufflers can lead to long term cracking of the tubes...... :smile18:
