Slo's  avatar makes me nervous to be around him while working on something......or just anytime, I guess... :smile19: :smile16:
I didn't want to say anything, butt I did hear Madonna's (Like a virgin) playing at his shop! :smile26:

The look on your face was priceless,  I thought for sure you would say something bout that... JetStar left that CD here the last time he was over and told me it was one of your favorites.
Now that is what I call smooth! It is nice to be in the company of a true professional! :smile30:

Should'a listened to my dad long ago, and maybe I'd have a decent job nowdays. As it is, looks like I'm destined to make about 20k a year where I'm at with what I do. Kinda tough to build a high :smile13: boat/motor combo with that kinda cash. I Shouldn't even be part of this hobby. I could hit a dealership again, but after 1 nervous breakdown from it, I doubt that'll happen. Soooo......boat sits until I figure out what to do. Guys, To be flat honest, If the boat was finished right now, ready to go, I couldn't afford the gas to run it. Straight up. Boat would be for sale if it was finished and with no problems.

Enough said? Prolly too much, sorry for rambling on.

Duane I totally understand where you're coming from. When Deb had to go on disabuility and her income went south, I've been playing the same shit ever since. Thus I'm down to day trips only. Got a tank and a half in the boat left over from my birthday trip to Canyon. Figureing out what bill I can put off to get the gas for the truck to get to Jetfest. Lifes a biatch but at least I can play with the water wheel chair a couple times this year.

See ya Saterday if it doesn't rain

wasn't meant that way...just a lot of people out there who ask me daily "what's up with the boat"

so I just thought I'd throw it out there, A lot of people have helped me along the way, and I feel very guilty for not finishing it for them. On the flipside, I've had the old boat for a long time, and it's got a garage.

Why would you say that? Apparently I missed the memo, cuz I didn't know being part of this hobby was having to have the baddest, fastest, blingiest(is that a word? lol) or whatever boat at the lake. I mean, I know where you're comin from on the $$$ situation. We been dealing with that for awhile ourselves. Why do you think I'm still running a 12 year old truck motor, or the fact that I haven't brought you my pump a year & a half after talking to you about rebuilding it?  lol :cheesy:

I dunno, not wanting to step on toes here so don't take it the wrong way... You've had that boat for a long time & its obviously very near & dear to you. You say if it was finished & running, you'd sell it? Cuz you can't afford to put gas in it? Seems to me that its a very rare situation where somebody sells a boat & actually gets everything they put into it, back out of it. You sell it & its possible you may not get enough to start over & then what? My opinion is why not either de-tune it (if possible) or keep that steroid 540 in mothballs for awhile longer & put you something together that is a little easier on the wallet to run. It just seems odd to me that at this stage of the game, you'd deny yourself the chance to enjoy a hobby & way of life that you obviously don't want to give up..

I dunno. It's like, that's just... my opinion, man... (Sorry, watched The Big Lebowski the other night, lol)

i agree with devilman... it would make more sense to bulid something you can afford then to bulid something you cant then sell it and start all over agian.. we all want that big nasty motor but in this time where our ecomony is down its not really a reality... i say bulid something you can pull up to the gas station and fill up. enjoy the boat just being on the water and a good boat ride..  you have came to far with this boat to just give up now... on a side note. i know slowryd didnt mean the post the way it read..  we all cant be ballers and own a pizza place like jetstar..lol  :smile17:

Well this is not the way I expected the post to go, but since we are here what the hell. We are all hurting about now, some more than others but it's blanketed all of us. It is never about who has the nicest or fastest, it's about friends. I know my boat is fast and nice! But I'm willing to allow anyone to ride in it at any time! So even if your sled is down, come on out and play. I always have empty seats. My dad also told me along time ago ( Never sell your toys, because they will cost you double to replace!). So I live in a salvage yard full of toys, that I won't sell.  :smile24:

your right patch its about friends that is our extended family.. i consider everyone on this site that i know my family.. its about having a good time and making new friends.. not whos boat is the fastest, the coolest, or best looking..  hell i would just be happy to have my boat in the water running.......  i understand why my dad never sells his grave yard of boats or cars in the side yard.. its better to have them there collecting dust then to sell them and replace them...
