Plowmans don't want you there.
Ya got that right Tim! I wouldn't put it past them that with all the reservations they had for that weekend that they started asking questions to some of the campers and someone let it slip that it was going to be a big BAD SCARY BOAT get together and they slammed the doors!

Yep.  How many times a year is that park booked solid?  Several years ago, they wouldn't even mow the grass for weeks prior to that weekend.

The Federal Government is cutting back on many recreational facilities to save money.  It's a Washington thing.

It is sad what has happen to this event due to what happen a few years back .. I love going to this park , but it sure has gone downhill a lot over the years .. You are correct that some of them do not want us there . It is obvious by the way they treat use there ,, they used to like us to come in and bring the boats .. Now it an inconvenience to them ..  I will continue to go and have fun if I can .. I can always trailer down to steel Creek from there

Plowmans will continue to be a good place for the gathering.  Many of the merchants benefit from it.  It will always have ups and downs, but the event always has a good turn out.

One of the benefits is the water is protected from North winds that time of year, and if the winds happen to be from the South, we can go to Steele Creek that is nearby where the water is protected from winds out of the South.

I hate to see the park closing early, but it might be to our benefit doing Plowman a bit earlier.  That time of year the weather tends to start changing quickly from warm to cooler, windier, and wetter.

I've been going for almost 20 years and it was going strong long before that.

I was thinking the same thing and was going to volunteer you.  But, I bet there will be takers.
I'll be there Friday and I think both you and EO will be too.  A number of others will also, should be  a good time as always.  Warm weather and light winds according to the weather forecast.  Ideal.

Hope the wind does not  get any higher .. Blowing SSE will blow right up into the cove .. But that might juts pack enough air under my boat so it will run a little faster ..

That's a good one.  Everyone knows mine sit on the trailer.  My philosophy is, "IF IT DON'T GO, CHROME IT."  It might not be chrome, but I do polish it a lot.

I just want to have fun.

Sorry you were sick Billy,we missed seeing you! We were down on the beach about half way up the cove with James and Ken and a couple of the Lavon people,,very small bunch compared to past years. We made a couple of passes then visited for a while, then took a little cruise to Steele Creek, there was one boat there on the ramp pulling out. Then we made the trip back to Indian Lodge.
