Well i hope not for your sake! But i still cant imagine them batteries being any count after 7 yrs lol

really the battery is 7 yrs old but it's fine,  i would not do something stupid.... contrary to belief
Do a ground range test before you fly it! we did this every spring just to make sure they were ok before we took to the air...
we just turned on the plane and radio and checked the time and walked away from the plane about as far away as you would fly it and just move the controls for about 10 minutes and check the power in the cells after that... It will damn sure let you know if you have a weak cell in either one!

Thanks  :smile27:  i really forgot about the range test,  i'm still preping the plane.....  with it sitting for three or so yrs.....  more worried about the motor,  so far been running good,  so with everything on and running the motor,  gives me a good intication on how long the batteries stay hot  :smile27:

We never bothered running the engine so if there was 2 people one was with the plane and you could hear the other say what control he was moving... It's all kinda redneck testing but it was always a good way to keep your plane in one piece!

I hope I will be as cool as Tim was when my next one goes in! I'm not going to give it any excuses though!

I wouldn't write those old battery packs off quite yet. I have gotten 3 packs so far to take a charge & hold it. The other night only one of 'em would do crap & even then it wouldn't stay charged but for about 5 minutes.. All I had to do was take some emery cloth & scuff the crud off the connectors. Also, all my motors run, but the speed controls  are still acting the fool... Pretty sweet though.. May get these fossils rolling yet.

Course all my battery packs are 1200 mah & the battery packs they sellin now are 1800 mah. Never ends. :cheesy:

That reminds me of something I learned along time ago. If you are in a real plane, with retractable landing gear and the landing gear won't extend. Is it better to land on the grass or a paved runway? :smile21:

Guess that would depend on what kind of plane???

You always land on the runway, the grass will lump up and do more damage. I never really flew anything with retracts though. That was something my ol man always hammered me on!
