Rings?

I'm rebuilding my motor for the Sanger, and I was wondering what rings would be best for marine applications. I was looking a gapless or file to fit. I'm not sure what would be best with the low temps we run. No power adders, just forged pistons with alum heads. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 10.5 : 1 . think.gif

I worked for Federal Mogul.  I sold the Speed Pro parts and Fel Pro gaskets also.  If you will post or pm myself or EO your engine combination I will list suggested rings. Hell Fire is a great ring.  It was designed for blower, turbo and nitrous applications.  Also if your going to run one real hard for period of time. Normal HP use just go  with file to fit, std. tension oil ring.

EO can more than likely save you some $$ on the rings and Fel Pro gaskets.  Either of us can make part number suggestions for you if it would be of help to you.

That would be great, I'm waiting on my head guy to give me some flow #s. Then off to the machinist for the rest of the info. I want it to be dependable. Don't want to be dropping no more valves! Thanks for the info guys! clap.gif

They have some port work, but I don't know what they flow. I'll know soon. Don't really plan on doing any more. Just want to get it together with good valves, and a little different cam combo! think.gif

Put some pro comps on it and call it Crap! Lol. I have speed pro Molly rings in mine now. I run  total seal capless rings in my race car motor that worked good but wear quick. I'm going to run file to fit in mine when I put the forged pistons in.

Yepper running those crappy a$$ heads right now and hate them. I am going to put some OEM Aluminum SCJ heads on, only thing that bites about doing that is I will then have to run AV gas or so i think anyhow.
I am at 10.3:1 comp now using a 933CC chamber and they SCJ heads have a 75CC
Not real sure what my comp will be after the head swap.
