Well, good question. The motor was built with the intention of running 2 dominators. (which I had)

I considered all the events and cruising, and decided to lose 40-50 HP in hopes of conserving a little fuel, since it has to be good stuff. :rolleyes:
In retrospect, I shoulda used Open chamber heads, or dished pistons.

duane if you keep up with all this polishing and painting,  then i will have to start doing the same,  but really everything is looking great,  caint wait to see it finished or at least on the water,  i don't think any boat is every finished !!

Got the fuel selector valve rebuilt......the old selector bracket is faded bad...either gonna paint it, or sand it all the way down and polish it....ain't sure yet....ideas?

Damn how long has it been since you had 2 tanks in it? Looks like it has spent considerably more time on Tank 1 than Tank 2... :grin:


So is the lettering raised or engraved....

engraved......I want to be able to switch tanks....run 1 tank to get to the sandbar, and 1 tank to get back... :smile23:

your ford gets that good of gas milage???

Last time I checked it, I averaged 2-3 gallons to the mile.....and I added 100 cubes... :rolleyes: Pretty good! :smile15:

sounds about like mine.. My stock motor sucked gas almost as bad as this one and i added another carb... one thing i do not like about ford for sure :smile14:

Also, where does that thing mount....  Stringer or something? Not up on the dash is it....


Also, what the hell ya'll talking about mileage & jet boats for? lol :grin: Gotta say though, mine does pretty good. Doubt the next one I build will though... :cheesy:

mounts on the port gunnel....that's the left side of the boat, in front of the rear seat, on the side. :grin:

Could paint the plate black, do the lettering & the switch/indicator in yellow?
