Dear  Patch,

I am reaching out to you because you have been a supporter of Texas State Parks. As you may know, record drought and heat, devastating wildfires, and a drop in visitation have led to a critical situation for state parks.

As a result, we need $4.6 million to offset this shortfall and help keep these state parks open. Thankfully there are three simple ways to help:

First, make a tax-deductible donation online or by mail.

Second, write in a donation of $5 or more to state parks on your vehicle registration form when you register your motor vehicle by mail, at your local county tax office, or online in counties which offer online payment.

Third, and most importantly, visit a state park with your family or friends because visitor fees pay for about half of all state park operating costs.

Thank you for this opportunity to communicate with you. Please be assured that we will not abuse the privilege. I hope you will act now to help keep your state parks open for all Texans to enjoy. Because Texas State Parks won’t be the same without you.

Sincerely,

Carter Smith
Executive Director

P.S. If you would like to keep up with what is happening in our state parks, I invite you to subscribe to free email updates of your choice, including the State Parks Getaways e-newsletter and much more.

:smile27:  when explained to them from a money stand point and that hot boat's tend to draw folk's
which mean's revenue, they might be more open minded.  back in the day arouind here cypress lake was the place to go to see the hot boat's. the place was packed with people paying to go there to see the boat's then they decided to run us all off. we now go to the red river and the marina there love us.  WHY people show up to see the boat's, it's all about them knowing that we will draw the crowd's , which mean's more money for them.  $$$$$$$$$$$$ doller's  :smile17:

if the State and Corp parks would be run more like a private business, and had not run off our tax dollars their attitude would be different,  in short :smile30:

I doubt that he can make it much farther on 40 gallons than I can on 24 , just costs more to get there . Thats a big heavy boat , not to mention he has a very inefficient BBF under the hood  :smile30:
at least my boat runs and floats! You'll be lookin for a tow at some time or another! I'll be there patiently waiting so I can say hell no! :smile16:

Not sayin state parks are better per se, but out of all the parks I've ever been in, its been the privately owned or Corp parks where all the problems have been... this rule, that rule, don't do this, don't do that.  Thats the folks people should be talkin to.

Not sayin I dont like the daycruiser , I actually do . I just doubt that the daycruiser gets much farther than the rest of us with normal size tanks , it weighs alot more . I personally think it would be alot cooler with a Chevy motor in it , but if you want to keep "Patching" the Ford that's your call .

Built it once, and have forgot about it. No patching it here, hell the only thing I do under the engine cover is grease the pump. It has ran three years with no problems. That's more than we can say for any of your boats! :smile20:

Not true , as far as I know all my boats are still running . They just have new homes . I never actually blew up any of my boats , just sold or traded them for other boats .

Speed has yet to pass anyone with anything, so no need to loose any sleep over it! Now let's talk about parks some more! :smile16: :smile16:

I have passed lots of people with lots of different things . I have never really considered any of my boats to be race boats . But they have all been decently powered , good reliable boats .
