Just got off the phone with the 429 people, and the cabins don't have cooking facalities, but he said our Gas grills were welcome.  I will bring mine and some spare propane so we will have something to cook on.  See Yall there!!

Got cabin 11 and it did have a cook stove inside.  Ouside is a charcoal grill on a stand like the ones at campsites at Plowman.  Just did not know if could use it now or not?

I turned and called to and got recording so spoke to no one.......guess can call back in a.m.

I am in 11 and Running late in 12 and EO Speed in 13..... If we do not feed those two guys they get really nasty!

May have to go by Lowes and buy Charcoal. Not bringing the great big one from home.

I thought thee was a thread about place to stay nearby, but I don't seem to find it now.  Any information would be helpful.

I did find a thread suggesting Greenville, but Terrell looks closer.  Are there motels in Terrell or is Greenville a better place, any suggestions?

Terrell is closer but Greenville is safer.  Most of the hotels in Terrell are on I-20 and that is... well...  on the wrong side of the tracks.  I grew up in Terrell, mom still lives there,  and I can tell you I would not leave my boat in a hotel parking lot in that town.  I would either go to Rockwall or Greenville to get a hotel.

Just bring your boat to the campground and leave it there and then get a hotel. I think it'll be safe with us.

There is a post on this but its pretty far back yea terrell is closer all hotel are off of I 20.  Greenville about 25 30 miles away and has hotels as well hampton inn best western holiday inn.  They are all off I 30.  And yes ur boat would be fine at the park in the field where we are going to use it for trailer parking.  I'm leaving mine dropped Friday night and couple hrs sat morning.    There will be enough of us boat guys and gals around.  Dry dock yes you can use the charcoal grills.  I will find out tomorrow if we are still under burn ban  or not. Due to the rain we got over the weekend and lastnight we may not be but will find out for sure and post Thursday night about it.  I know a few of the guys are bringing gas grills if we need anything.  Every womens fav store is just down the road WALMART about 10 min away and a brookshires.  Going out around noon today to put up orange and white pvc pole to mark the sand bar just as u come under the bridge after u launch ur boat.  Said this in another post stay in center when u come under bridge and when u come out of it on west side head for the no wake bouy and then u will miss the sand bar and just around the bend is 429 u will see the rv's.  The stump field is way north as long as u run the south end u will be fine.

Good point Jasson.  Leave your boat/trailer at the marina.

According to Google maps:
18.2 miles from 429 marina to I-20 in Terrell where the hotels are.
19.8 to I-30 in Greenville.
26 miles to I-20 in Rockwall.

So the difference between Terrell and Greenville is only 1.6 miles.  I would feel safe staying in either town.  I just would not be comfortable leaving my boat in a lot in Terrell.

Drive safe guys!  See you soon!

After I launch the Crusader on Friday afternoon, I'll probably leave it in the water until Sunday. I need to bring the trailer back with me tot he campsite so I can do a little maintenance on the trailer that can only be done with the boat off of it.

This is going to be a great weekend!!
