The South is getting some rain!

i believe we are still well over 20 inches of rain to take us out of the drought condition  state wide

Wettest year statewide: 1941, 42.62" - state average
Driest year statewide: 1817, 14.30" - state average 

We got 14.89 in 2011 state wide.

Houston and surounding area is used to close to 50" a year.

That's gonna take quite a few storms to catch up!!!! Wow, 50 inches in Houston!!!! That's ALOT of water!!! Hopefully it keeps up so you guys have all the lakes and wells fill up...

Still here.  The heavy rain hasn't been wide spread enough to get the river flowing.  Last time I looked at the LCRA website, the river has only risen just under 2 feet.  Hardly enough to get excited over.

I have not been over by the river today , but our ditches are full  jump.gif That means there will probably be fresh water in the river for the Winter Nats  :smile30:

I think that depends on Lake Houston. think.gif

Alot of it does depend on Lake Houston , but not all of it . Half of the town actually drains directly into the river itself , and half of the town drains into the lake .

Everything past the dam actually drains to the river , all the way out to the bay . So the water hat is falling in Barrett , Highlands , and half of Crosby right now will actually go straight to the river  :smile30:

unfortunately, all this rain will only eaqual a inch or so in somerville, can you say drop in the bucket.  :smile25:

I dont understand why lake houston is dumping they are still 2 ft low below full pool  . I think they should flood the lake incase we have another nasty summer
