Kona, For what is worth, I had great oil pressure while idling around, but when I nailed it the oil pressure went to next to nothing.  After changing everything that measures oil pressure, I finally pulled the engine and dropped the pan.  The spot welds that hold the scupper on the oil pickup  had broken, and under acceleration the scupper would slide back on the pickup tube and shut off oil flow.  When I let off the scupper would fall back in place, and like magic the oil pressure would return.  I know it;s alot of work, but it was a cheap fix.  Spent the money I had set aside for a rebuild and bought an MSD.  Hope this helps. :smile27:

all info helps,  it's one of the first places i will start looking and work my way back into the motor,  gonna check all the simple things,  like that,  bad gasket on the pickup tube,  worn oil pump shaft, bad gasket on oil pump,  wrong clearance on pickup to pan,  the list goes on, before i get into checking the bearings,... thanks  :smile27:
