You might want to check out PPG 2021 clear.
It goes over a very wide variety of paints, is extra tough, Nitro-methane won't even affect it and can be sanded and polished.
If you use a little DFX-11 mixed in with it it will be dust free in 10 to 15 minutes and completely set up overnight.
I have been using this stuff for a long time and it works good for the occasional painters like us.

Good info Shrek.. I dont know anything about paint, so I would look to those that do it more often than me. I did the whole boat in that PPG3000 and it goes on over all kinds of paint and I sanded and buffed it out. But that stuff that Shrek said sounds like good stuff to. I think the 3000 is mainly for small coverage drys fast so gotta be on your toes and dont stop. Also just remember it needs a flexagent added if not already in it. We all know these boats flex alot, so ya dont want it to chip due to flex. Hopefully some painters will chip in some info.

See learn something new everyday.. Im just saying what has been done on the last 2 that I had painted the painter added flex to the paint. Speaking of paint, I need some ideas for a design for mine. Not alot just something to break up the white so I can clear it. (Scott)

I got it out and did some testing...No setup work or tuning, just warmed it up and made a pass, it ran 96mph on bare motor. Should run good after it is all setup  :smile16: not bad for a little 477ci motor.

Worked  B/C impeller  turning 6400rpms.
