How do you engage the V-Drive , Cable ? or can you still get to the handle ,under the middle part of the seat ?
I need to get my seats redone .. I need me a big boy seat ..
What was the cost on getting all of that done ?
jimsplace said:Ya know, there's something that doesn't seem natural about sitting on top of the V-Drive... :smile26:
That would scare the crap out of me. I'm very protective of certain parts of my body.

Billy I had an air shifter once and honestly I didn't like it for lake cruising and skiing. I just went back to the lock out handle and operate it through a slot in the seat under the center cover (run run without when we ski).
Seat, header covers and scoop plug where about $500 but he's in the car club and might have cut me some slack.

Thanks, I bought a new bench from a boat builder in Oklahoma about 17 years ago, took a splash off the back then cut the seat down the middle pulled apart on the splash and glasses it back together. Then I cut the bottom out to clear the v-drive and made a plug for that and glassed the center bottom and back all together, a little grinding and primer and paint and there was a fiberglass bench shell. This time the cushion bottoms are ABS instead of plywood so the total weight was 36lbs and my buckets were 13lbs each so I did add about 10lbs. It did give it more of a sleeper image when I was running a single 4 though.

I hope you realize that you screwed yourself with the bench seat.
Using the point system for next years race, you'll have to add points since you now have a single seater. LOL :smile26:

Heck Jim if they backed out on that race this year already what makes you think they'll ever have it? I built this boat for myself and I enjoy it so that's all I care about. I do like meeting other boaters and thought that race would be a good chance to put more faces with screen names. Do you do any get togethers in Oklahoma or nort Texas?

I hope you knew I was being facetious on the single seat and race.
I hope they can put something together next year, there are a lot of things to consider though and it won't be easy.
What was presented had a few flaws (IMO), but it was a good start. There are many variables.
As much as I dislike the concept of bracket racing like in SDBA, it has it's merit. It levels the playing field where money is not the only
factor in winning.
I usually go to the Plowman event when it's being held (Lake Whitney, Tx.), Tawakoni and E.O.'s parties at Joe Pool.
Im looking at going to some of the other get-togethers and meet more people, but nothing in particular.
It may be in my best interest to meet some of the people that I feel that I know from these boards. If they are really big
I might have to reconsider what I post.
As I used to tell my old girl friends, they shouldn't take anything seriously that I poke at them in fun. :smile30:
