I think they are both cool... If i was to get one I thik i would go with a flat, but that is just me as it would not be a river crusier.. just a mom and dad only hot rod.

I agree with you Stu,  but i kinda favor the runner bottom,  I like the idea of the tunnel style bottom,  and your right,  definitely a mom and dad river runner hot rod

It depends on what you want to do with it.  If you like to turn quickly, then a true flat.
If you want to drag, then the runner has the advantage.

After 21 years with a runner I'm going to say for a lake hot rod I can't see anything wrong with a runner bottom. I pull kids tubing, skiing and hot rod it and ocassionally bracket race it. At speed a runner is typically more stable and will go faster with less power than a true flat.

My opinion for what its worth.  :smile30:

If I had to pick one it would be a runner bottom ..

A flat can sometime be hard to handle when you get off of it at high speeds , the air get trapped under it and will lift the tail and you better be ready to correct it .. But my two old flats would out turn my runner bottom .

I would still pick a runner bottom for a everyday lake boat ..

I like the flat bottom part of a hydro. I actually like them all. Having never drove a flat or a runner , I am wondering how this 2" runner bottom is gonna ride . I also don't have a clue about the pedals but I guess I will figure it out.

I have all the confidence in the world you can learn.
If Billy and I can learn, it must not be very hard.

Has Billy learned yet?

NOPE - I have not learned yet .. It too much dam fun out there ..
NOTE to self -- stay on the down pedal just a little bit longer next time .. Don"t listen to Rusty , he will get me killed ..  He told me to not to use the down pedal and  just catch it after it launches .. Don't work for me ..

Dry Dock - I went back and looked at that picture , dam  I almost rodeo it ..  Both side of the back of the boat is out of the water .. I must need more power ..

Jet are all about showing off , we don't need 20 pages to talk about how good our V-Drives are

Billy's just being kind enough to show us the print of a runner bottom...For those who asked, see those small runners down each side? Tunnels if you will; that's what makes a runnerbottom....lol, Thanks, Billy!
