I bought them for highway gears for the cougar....also got a spare pumpkin and carrier for them, so it's a quick gear change. The 4.86's may just be a lil' steep for a trip to Corpus. :smile16:

BTW, working on getting the old car road ready this weekend. jump.gif

I gotcha.. ya, thats the way to do it for sure.. 4.86's damn... lol great to hear about the Cougar, been a long time since you've run it around.

I think we're gonna sell our old hot rod tow truck seeing how I never tow with it. I don't know what gears it has but at 60 the motor's singing! I'd like to find and older one.

Swapped the buckets out for a bench last saturday nite. Took my youngest out for a test run, he is now hooked on burnouts! The rear drop shackles showed up, so it's time to level this thing a little bit. Oh and the Sanden/York compressor swap kit showed up for the a/c yesterday! This thing will be ready pretty quick! Almost time to pull a jet boat with it! :smile16:

Ya burnouts can be pretty fun, done it a couple of times over the years myself.

Whats this compressor swap kit you talkin about? The York is the square box style compressor is it not?

Patch just remember to wear your helment when doing those burnouts.
Nice! Yes the York is the old piston type compressor. They work good, but raddle themselves apart! So I'm putting a late model rotary type compressor. They last allot longer and run smooth! :smile16:

so is there something else to the conversion, fittings or something. Guessing it will now be 134 instead of 12?

Yes, I run the 134-a in it. I have a small leak i'm trying to find. There is an adapter plate for the compressor, and I change the drier and flush the system! The lines are supposed to bolt up, so we'll see! :smile30:

this may be a dumb question, but are the internals any different between a c-6 for a small block versus a c-6 for a big block?

got ya... I had the c-6 that came out from behind the 460 in my 4x4 in storage for awhile. Not sure if its still there or not. Maybe I should just switch to a big block. :cheesy:

Yours factory or you tweak it any?
