Granbury lake - July 10 condition

Will I went out on our Lake ( Granbury ) today in the old Ski Nautique and the water is down about two feet . Boat ramp is still usable and had plenty of ramp to get the boat on and off the trailer ..

My dad and I just cruised around and found the sandbar that washed in a couple of  years ago , so if you want to head up to Tin Top bridge and sandbar area ,  form the Hwy 51 bridge , you better have a very low profile boat and be able to lift the outdrive up..A jet boat might be able to be pushed over it . It is about 60 feet long  .. The water at the new sandbar is only about 18 inches deep . The old Ski boat was stuck and was hitting the fins . had to get out and push it back off .. So beware if you go up river past 51 bridge and before you get to the old bridge pylons .. I would not take a V-Drive over it !!!!

Since I was bored out there and I had my GPS with me . I marked me off a nice 1/4 mile run. It just so happen that two of the river channel  buoys are almost exactly a 1/4 apart . just  add about a  100 feet and it would be a  perfect 1/4 run .. So all I need now is to get the V-drive out and get it tuned in  and go play .. I should have done that today . The water at my dad's place was perfect today with about 4-6 inch ripples .. perfect water for hauling a$$.. and no boat traffic out today up river ..

Still had fun getting on the water today . Dam it is hot out there

i just downloaded a app that does 1/8 and 1/4 mile times and mph. im goin to test it today in the service truck and see how that beast will run and how accurate it is on the 1/8 and 1/4.

all u do is hit start and press on the gas and it will beep when you reach 1/8 or 1/4 mile and give you e.t. and mph. we will see.

That would be great . But do not think I could hear it in the boat with the open headers  .. I just want to see how fast I can get in the 1/4 mile . So I will use my GPS and when I hit the 1/4 mark , I will back off of it then .

I wish we could have a nice event at Lake Granbury . The Lake Patrol. Game Warden and the BRA are pretty tough on our types of boats on this lake ..

I was just out in front of my Dad's place seyting me up a little run area. I have always ran over at mt Dad's  place and most of the time I do not get hassled . I have upset a few people when I made some runs about 7:30 in the morning, testing the boat .. I normally go by later and apologies to them .. Most do not mind , They normally come out and watch me make passes , but there are a few that do not like the noise .

At 7:30 in the morning?  I knew you were a trouble maker.

Since I am a late riser, I am the one who would just be getting in the water about 8:00 am when the local police and the angry neighbors show up who made the earlier calls.  I can see it now, you sitting over to the side pointing at me with a big grin.

That would be me ..  :smile30:

I love making runs the first thing in the mornings .. :smile27: I try and wait , but when that water is slick and the boat and I are just sitting there waiting , then I can not resist dropping it in and making a run .. My Dad is used to it . He will be having his first cup of coffee and he will hear  me fire it up at the ramp . It about 2 mile away from his house and then he will walk down to the dock and meet me ..
