I have a video but I cannot figure out how to down load.  Very interesting day.  I doubled up the oil to seat in the rings.  Started right up so I was happy.  Run a little rough due to the amount of oil. Did a little tuning with the eletronics to lean it out because of the oil. Then kicked it off the trailer.  I ran it around changing RPM's but never over 4500.  That is half of what it is set to turn.  At take off it spins out so not real happy with the set up on rigging.  I knew I would have to change that with the re-power so not big deal really.  Ran it for approx 45 minutes and was at about 3500 RPM's and then a loud bang and lock-up.  I pulled the 'ol paddle out and went to work.  I got to shore and walked it to the trailer.  Lake Summerville is REAL COLD this time of year.  Did'nt even pull the cowl off until home.  I expected to see pieces but the powerhead was fine, I trashed the lower unit.  I cannnot figure out how that happened.  What is another $1500?  I got one yesterday and I will try this again.

Every thing was checked before I went out.  I have no idea why it broke.  The only good thing about this is I got a faster and stronger lower unit than what I had.  I am also going to a 32% pitch prop.  I will see what that will do.  According to tha prop calculator I should run 120mph with it.  Who knows????????

Hey like they say figures never lie but liers figure.  I have a rev limiter at 7500 RPM's that motor can twist 9000 +.  Last year I spun 6200. I ran a 28% Chopper prop last year.  I most likely will stick with it. Not so sure about the 32%.  I just need it to hook up out of the hole.  I may have the prop cupped more for more grab and lower the motor.  It is just feeling out the proper set up.  I do not want to push this to the edge and blow it up.  $ are getting thin.

I had to walk in that water for about 15 minutes.  I told my wife my junk left town and not sure when it would return to normal. :smile26:

I was at Welch Park at Summerville.  There was nobody even close on land or sea.  Nice thing is I had the whole ramp and place to myself but it would have been nice to have someone tow me in.  My arms got a good workout.  Good thing I brought a change of clothes also.

My luck is batting 1000.  The truck just pulled up with my rub rail I ordered and it was bent in a "W".  I threw it back on the truck and said I anit taking that crap and back it went to Florida.  I guess I will wait another 2 weeks. :smile20:
