We went to Cedar Ridge park at Lake Belton and we weren't too impressed. For one they dont let anyone in unless you have reservations. (no boat ramp or day passes).
They dont have anywhere to park the boats either. all rock banks except for the small swim area.
And the sites are small. So we were thinking about having it at Liberty Hill Park at Lake Navarro Mills. They have day and boat ramp passes, plus a marina. and a gas station 4 miles from Liberty Hill park with a subway.
here are the links for the lake and park. check it out and let me know what yall think...

I looked at Stillhouse Hollow's parks and my only concern is that there may not be enough campsites available for all of the hot boaters to stay at one park. Other people may reserve sites before us and there may not be room for everyone. We have not been to the lake so any input is appreciated. Is there a place at Stillhouse Hollow to park the boats on the bank or is it rocky?

We are still planning on July 17th - 19th we just have to figure out which lake. MORE INPUT PLEASE!!

I've got some pics from the campground that Richard mentioned, Dana Peak Park. I want to say we tied off the bank a bit, as there were some rocks, nothing major though. Gimme a few minutes & I can go through them & post some up if you want.....

Took a little longer than I thought, lol.....

Anyway, here is a few from where we were camped... You can see what I mean about the shoreline in a couple of them. There wasn't a whole lot of shade, but the trees may have grown enough to provide some by now? Pics were taken in May of 2006....

That shoreline wouldn't bother me.  Having to anchor out isn't that big of a deal as long as everyone brings an anchor............I'm fresh out of extras.  :smile20:

Hey DMan, how fast does it get deep?  (steep/angle)

Yeah, it ain't too bad. Bottom was a fairly shallow angle, you could walk out further than where my boat was in those pics & still touch.

And a little ways around that bend there is an actual "swimming area" that is buoyed off from boats & stuff where the bottom was cleared of rocks... The girls took the little ones over there too swim & we took the boat over there at one point & messed around over there. There may be other areas on the lake to hang out as well, Richard & Jeff went for a ride around the other side of the lake, they may be able to tell you if there were any other spots to hang other than just at the camp area.

Thanks for the pics. We are going back to Navarro Mills to take another look tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be raining this time. We will post some pics and more information. Here is more information we found today.
Liberty Hill Park has (48) 50 amp sites and (72) 30 amp sites. You can also rent an RV and they will set it up at your campsite for you. There are 2 lighted boat ramps and 2 courtesy docks. You can get a day launch pass for $3.00 if not camping. They also have boat rentals at the Marina.
We are leaning towards Navarro Mills right now. We like that they have alot of trees and sites. We will make a final decision this weekend. Thanks for all the input.
