What's your thoughts on this missing flight? I can't imagine what the families of those passengers are going through! :smile25:

This is crazy...a B-777 lost for hours?? Still unable to find any sign of a wreckage? One would think they'd be able to triangulate the pings they got from the engines...

Hard to say since there has been so much misinformation & chit going around about it. I'm kind of the opinion that its whereabouts are known & the information is being sat on for the time being.

Chinese wanted a 777 for their military so they stole one....

easy. I have read several articles/discussions on it from multiple sources. Then, based on the information I have taken in, I formed an opinion on it. Consequently, after being asked my thoughts on the subject I took that opinion & translated it to the form of the written word by typing it out & submitting it to this website.

That answer your question?

In today's world of smart aircraft, something is most definitely fishy! Going invisible is very hard to do, and not getting all the radar info is another question. I'm intrigued by the whole thing, and I can't believe that no info would leak out anywhere if it were still in one piece! think.gif think.gif

I think it's in one piece weather it be at the bottom of the ocean or in someone's hands (most likely after all it did have two passengers that had fake ids) but to not even find one single piece or body/flotation device, is just plan fishy!! Something for sure is going on and I'm with you patch I'm just intrigued about it all!!

406 ELT should've been triggered.  Exact coordination at impact would've been transmitted to NOAA or other governing body.  (If so equipped.  FAA mandated for all US registered aircraft.  I'm pretty sure it's mandated by EASA as well.) Somebody knows.

They keep talking about transponder transmitions but, no word about RADAR contact.  I'm also curious if it had ADS-B.  It's enhanced mode s that gives all sorts of flight information.  It would be nice to know what was going on just before it was turned off.

Kind of shocked that the engines transmit data to a satellite , but the satellite can't record location. Or maybe it does, and they don't want everyone to know they know. think.gif

One thing I have read is that there is only so many areas where that big bastard could be landed, as far as a proper landing goes anyway.

Far as crashing in the ocean, that Air France flight that went down a few years ago I saw where it was 5 days before the first pieces of wreckage were found & the "black box" wasn't found till 2 years later?

I still think there is more known about this deal than what anyone is letting on. Why info is being contained is anybody's guess.

Another rumor is its been suspected that it was commandeered by private sources to be brought back to the states, torn down & parted out. There is reportedly a buyer in the New Braunfels area already putting in bids for one of the engines in hopes of getting a capless jetboat of questionable origin over 42 mph once completed.

The engine data is transmitted on a datalink system that is used for trend monitoring.  That datalink system does not transmit the position labels off of the databus.
