I believe you are correct! Unless you can convince them it flew a long way on it's own. The old rule to batteries is that for every day they are discharged, they loose a certain percentage of their usuable life. So if it sits for months, it will not come back 100%.
sorry patchman but i'm gonna prove this wrong, It's based on use not on how long a battery sits discharged, and the control subjects are NiCds... because they are the problem child... i have two identical batteries, one has been charged once to full/ peak charge and basically never used except to put the bird in the tree, now the second battery has been used for 3 yrs, both batteries has sat for 3 or 4 yrs....... now here's the interesting part
Battery that was used for the 3 yr time frame almost came back to peak charge, and then went to CHIT!,
Now the battery that has only been peaked charged one time, has come back to peak charge and is good.....
EDIT: I failed to mention that both batteries are 7 yrs old

now tech trivia on NiCds, when sitting they have a self-discharge rate at 15 percent... :grin:
