You don't have to worry about that with me, the 5.0 Ford is one of the best motor ever! :smile30:

beat the hell outta my thread...... crazy.gif

anyway, tossing around the idea of a single turbo setup (blow-through) for the 521, might just have to give it a shot, money permitting.

We had to buy Sandy a new car friday, gonna knock a little wind out of the boat funds.

Got her a 2010 Dodge Journey....awesome ride.....

That would be cool. I would like to turbo the Hawaiian. I was thinking twins though. :smile16:

I have been looking at the draw through setups , seems like it would be really cool and different from all the blow through systems you see on boats .

Ok, for now my new plan is to rebuild the big motor for the hydro. The trick flow heads are outdated and very limited on flow, compared to what they offer now. (besides being trashed) Most of you know, My 532 12.8 to 1 motor grenaded the first day out. pin broke off in the cam for the timing gear, and it ate some valves, pistons, etc. shoved an intake valve permenently into the seat....sideways..lol. My income tax check hopefully will be here soon, gonna buy pistons and rings, reuse the 4.3 stroke crank and 6.8 h-beams....and build a 521. I am going with the p51's...and it'll be around 10 to 1, with the 726 lift 268/276 @ .050 roller/ 108*
I aquired a 460 block fresh from the shop, .030 decked, align honed....$200
pistons JE-$700
Rings-$140

there goes my refund for this year, tune in next year for the following chapter....

I didn't know your engine was a roller Duane, what is required exactly, to make one a roller? Be nice to convert & not have to worry about cams, what with all the voodoo with the low zinc situation and all for the regular cams..

Worth the hassle & $$$ for a lakeboat?

It will cost $1,000 or more by the time you buy a cam $300-$350, lifters $300-$400, valve springs $150, and have them installed??? Gaskets too.

It is a good Power increase most of the time. Since the lifters are roller the cam can be more aggressive and open quicker so when the piston is at peak pump the valve is around max lift and let a lot more air in.

I'm not trying to be a know it all, I'm just sharing what I have learned from some very knowledgeable people through the years.
