Well, spent some time saturday, got the pistons dismounted, crank cleaned and polished. Engine block on the stand, ready for a bath....ran into a brain fart...forgot the scat crank uses chebby rod bearings....I have plenty of ford bearings, but no standard 454 rod bearings, so project on hold for a few days. Don't want to start with the short block without everything in hand.

That being said, anyone have any bearings on hand? crazy.gif

Lookin Good Duane glad your able to get some work done.  Most of the autoparts stores should have a set of those chebby rod bearings in stock.

I went from 450 Mech sec's to 660 1:1 on mine, when I put them on it had a whistle like a Blower when ramping to full throttle, I put 2" swirl torque spacers under them to straighten the charge,

Stopped the whistle and picked up 200 R's on the big end. (Same T/R you have)  :smile30:

Ok, dug out the template sandy and i made for a splash guard....Sid called today and is working with a little plexiglass, and was interested, so I set it back out, and shots some quick photos...might go aluminum, though.... think.gif

Got the rods and pistons mounted, rings on. Block final honed. Time to pull it out of the shop and pressure wash it... :smile15: I HATE this part... :smile28:
