New to the jet boat scene and always looking for somewhere new to go. Is this the Steel Creek Park on Lake Whitney? Looks like a couple of hours from east Dallas area, but on the Brazos river.

ADDITION: Just wonsdering, do you ever boat the Brazos river where it goes through Waco? Are there ever meets there and is there a speed limit in town? That would be a cool place to meet up and make some runs with a nice audience. Just wondering, that's all.

Yes you are correct Steel Creek is on the upper end of Lake Whitney off of Hwy 56 near Lakeside Village on the Brazos River .

SDBA normally has a sanction race in Waco once a year . This year was cancelled  . It is West of 35 about 5 miles ..Do not know about if they have a speed limit going through the city limits on the Brazos .

EO :
I think he put the 29's in , he would not tell me and told me to just go try it and let him know what I thought ..

Picking up 15 gallon of E-85 on the way home . 2.18 a gallon is a lot better than that 8.00 a gallon a bought two weekes ago . Sure hope it runs out good on the E-85

Yeah 2.15 per gal is a lot better. Hope we have good weather. Will they ever get the race back in waco? Or will Lucas oil screw that up to? Talk to later Billy.

Picked up some of that E-85 last night and busted off the engine with it . Yeah the cost was 2.17 a gallon ..  :smile16:  It smells different than race fuel or even regular gas ...

Once I finally got the idle mixture screws out far enough for it to idle , it sounds good on the trailer . I had to back them out 2 3 /4 turn for it to idle. I guess it need more fuel than a regular carb ob gas  . Just not used to backing the scews out that far ..

I just need to pick up some more E-85 and clean the boat and I should be ready to head to Steel Creek for Saturday ..

See you guys there ..

Who all is going to show up this time ???..

Hey Neil , EO and his crew, and Rocky told me he would be there in the V-Drive Daycruiser. I am not sure about anyone else . I think Jim should have his Blower back on by now , maybe Wayne will show up with that pretty Black V-Drive .. Unless it raining i will be there . I am ready , Just need to clean the boat and pack the truck ..
You going to be early like the last time .. LOL ..

As long as it sounds good on the trailer that all that count since I have a TRAILER QUEEN !!! :smile17:
I am set , I will save money by not having to put it in the water ..

I am excited about trying the E-85 , The people built the carb already helped me this morning telling me that he wants me to call him with some data and he will send the part to get it dialed in if needed . It was a little lean at idle and I had to back the idle mixture screws out 2.75 turns to get it to idle . So it a little lean in the idle circuit right now . Need to put a smaller air bleed in the idle circuit and that will cure that .

The E-85 has a different smell to it for sure , It does not smell as good as race fuel , but i can get used to it for the difference in price . Even if it burn 35-40% more fuel , it will still be like 5.00 a gallon cheaper than race fuel .. So $2.15 a gallon times 40%more fuel consumption  = 3.05 a gallon in comparision . I think I have that right .. I know it only cost me 32 dollar to get 15 gallons last night and I like that !!!

LOL, trailer queen, ya right....

Seems I hear of more people looking into the E-85 deal all the time. I mean hell, if you can get the performance you're looking for & save some $$$ in the process, whats not to like?

I guess if you want it to smell, you can add stuff to it like George does. He puts something in his fuel makes it smell like bananas.  :cheesy: Think he gets it from Autozone, right there close to the chrome spraypaint & those double-bladed windshield wipers, lol.

Don't forget the Pink & Green door guards and the "HOT" stickers.

Personally I like the E-85 smell.  Reminds me of the moonshine we get from the in-laws in TN.

I was thinking it smelled like everclear or moonshine or something that got me drunk before  :smile21: .

Just bought 10 more gallon so I can have some extra for Saturday , this stuff is clear .. I need to light some and see how it burns .. See if you can see the flame or not ..

OK , who all is coming down Saturday to Steel Creek ..???

Yeah Kenny . I hope the performance is there with the E-85.. Everyone seam to be having pretty good luck with the stuff . I will post up Sunday or Monday with how it ran . I still will be breaking in the engine , but I should get a good feel for how it will do . With the new gears and E-85. I have no ideal what it will do Saturday ..

The blower went on this evening (wed) which means it will not be ready by Saturday.  It is getting a lot closer.
Like a lot of other people, I am anxious to find out how the e85 works in your boat Billy.  I have changed my carburetors over to e85, but they need to be put back together before they go on the boat.
I am also changing my overboard water to get more water out of the engine easier.  I am still assuming the water in the oil came from too much pressure in the block.  So, I will restrict the water coming in and will put a larger hose going out.
I wish mine was going to be ready.
Next time it should be running.

Jim . I was looking forward to seeing you and also to see how your boat was going to run on the E-85 also.. I added the second water overbored line also on mine and I can tell it does make a difference in the water pressure coming out the back of the boat . The water stream is about half as strong  but have two of them now .

What I am wanting to know on my engine is if the oil cooler that I installed is going to drop the oil temperature down enough so I can play with the boat more than 15 minutes at a time . I sure hope so .. I guess I will find out Saturday ,
