I like an engine cover and able to throw a 200 foot tail. Boat's gotta be able to handle some chop for us. We hit the lake concerts every Thursday night here on Ray Hubbard. Always a great chance to make an $80k boat look slow.

First off, I've been told for 20 years this hull doesn't work. OK.
It was my first jetboat, and I loved it!
mine is a sanger jet hydro, and I have no idea how fast it will be now. After owning 2 v-drives that were pretty fast, I am sure it'll be a let down. (one of the reasons it's not running yet)
on the other hand, with water-soaked foam in the floors, and a 429 flat tappet, it would run in the low 80's, and was very stable.
I love the looks, and am waiting for the results.....maybe around April.
I do know of an exact copy of my boat that was run in the ME class and did well. Boat was named "High Risk"
It was a blown bbc, though. :smile29: Harbormaster for the CC Channel.

I'm just razz'n, the fact you love it is good enough. Good luck with it.

Ya know adam started out with a jet hydro. He said it was good For about 80 with a N\A big block {heavy on the squeeze}. He actually talked me out of the one I wanted to buy. Its like any thing else though. If your not running a cheyenne or a daytona your the slow guy. But po folks like me gotta get in where I fit in.

Should be a couple of blown flatties at boat bash this year. A few of the clubbies are putting some together during the winter.  Hopefully robert will have his running by then.

I went to Walmart today to look for tether balls. They didn't have any.

We bought the tether balls at toys r us.  The huge ass balls at walfart require you to make a hoop out of 550 cord then anchor them with some good ole jug line

They could probably make up lots of stuff, but the letter of the law says 50ft between boats up on plane. I'm sure when the park ranger see's a line of buoys with a flagman out there he'll know what's up.. LOL

If it was that easy everybody would do it.  I'm not trying to be a neh sayer or rain on anybody's parade but I've been fighting this fight with the local park director for a solid year and a half. And he has a good point that there is no arguement for. What if you hurt somebody. That's on the average weekend. We want to close a portion of the lake for bash. That's what I'm fighting him about.

I'm betting you are right.  TPWD will show up before the last bouy even hits the water.  I bet Ken, Kirkland or Jimmy will know the answer.

Thats why we have coordinate with them to allow the club (NTJBC) to get an ambulance, divers, safety boat... Tell them we're gonna race anyway, let's make it as safe as possible.
