Bracket Racing For Boaters.

when i was doing it, during the winter mths i would put a little money back every week plus any overtime money that i made BUT what helped me out , was having a small side business and putting the name on the boat and charging it back  as advertising.  also doesen'thurt to find some help thru sponser's.

MOTORHEAD "Bobby" what did it cost yall last year to run down at marble falls.  Not sure my boat has what it takes but sure sounds fun.    Hell just go to broken bow and you can get all the racing in you want LOL  But you better have your stuff togather  jump.gif

I got an idea for all who want to bracket race.  It will cost around $1000 total to race all said and done. I can save you money. Give me $200 dollars I will race you, you will win I will have my wife take pictures.  I will buy a trophy for you. You can brag to your friends with pic's and hardware.  You will save money I will make money and this will help pay for my projec clap.gift this winter.  Everyone wins!

I also thought that it was mandated that each boat have some type of prop release be it on a vdrive or a jetaway or pop off for a jet??

From page 43 of the SDBA rule book...

Pressure Release Valve  -  All jet boats (except the river racer class) are required to utilize either an approved  mechanical impeller release mechanism (ratchet) or an approved pressure release valve (pop off). If desired, both release mechanisms may be employed.

Interesting, page 44...

Pump Loader - All jet boats are required to have the pump loader secured with a minimum of  four (4) size five  sixteenths (5/16) inch grade 8 steel bolts. A minimum of two (2) of the bolts must be drilled completely through and secured with nuts. Flathead stainless steel bolts are not allowed. 

Racing or not, we should ALL conform to this rule!!!

Parachute  Release Mechanism  -  The parachute release mechanism shall be located in such a position as to be readily accessible to the driver. In addition, it is recommended the release mechanism must have the capability of being activated without the driver having to remove either hand from the steering wheel (i.e., a foot operated release pedal or a release activating  button on the steering wheel, etc.)

SO MAKE SURE YOUR PARACHUTE BUTTON IS MOUNTED TO THE STEERING WHEEL!!

  jump.gif  that is a good deal. one small sugestion tho......... when taking the pic.have a couple
good looking women standing around the recipiant as you hand them the trophy. that way all there friend's will be thinking hey's the man. cant hurt.  jump.gif  clap.gif  clap.gif
