They have the best Tacos in Granbury and the Tea is good also .. I was wondering if some one was going to comment on the food and the cups on the table ..

The Prop is back under the boat and is set at a good 1/8 from the strut .. I had about 3/16 when I slid it on with no key in it, but  when I tighten the prop down good and tight , I came up with just 1/8 clearance .. I also painted the end of the strut orange to see if the V-Drive box is moving on me .. I think my old prop may have hit the strut a few times by looking at the end of the old prop ..
OK -- It is Thursday and time to pick on JIM -- Jim-- I still would like to see the new Hardware JJ made for you .. I think I will need a set of those also ..

I will bring my Checkmate if you want to do some side by side testing.  :smile26:
Please don't .. I hate for you to put me on the trailer with the Checkmate .. Bring that Hydro you have if you going to put me on the trailer , so I don't look so bad when it happens ..

Billy you might add a nickel there's some movement in these boats between the fiberglass and the way they're rigged. With 950hp I think the front of your prop will probably hit the strut with only an 1/8" space. Just my $.02 for whatever its worth.

Loren - I did add one nickle to get it to come out to 1/8 inch .. .. I wanted to keep it under the boat as far as possible . The old prop was closer than this one is ..  That is my Winter project .. I am having JJ make me some braces for it to stop the flexing ..
I think I am going to try a couple of burn outs and see what it does .
But if you think I should , I will take it back apart and add another nickle before i test Saturday  ..
EDIT -- Going to do one Burn out and then check the boat . If I need to I will add nickle at that time .. I think I have enough room to slide the coupler back and just move the prop shaft enough to get the nickle in there with out taking the prop off ..

Dam - Now I am trying to decide if I want to add the nickel today after work in the shade at the house or take the chance and have to change it out in the hot sun at Joe Pool . Dam -- I should have just put two dam nickel in it yesterday .. Decision - Decisions ..  :smile29:

An 1/8 of an inch isn't very much, I think a little more space is a good idea.
If you put your foot on the end of the prop shaft and push, I think you'll see some movement forward.
The 950 HP will push harder.

I sure hope so .. It has been  a battle the past couple of years and I was seriously thinking about selling it ..I test fit the camera a few days ago to the side of the boat that is next to me for a shot of where the water is breaking on the boat , then I will mount it to the helmet and try and get a shot of the tach also .. I just hope I have good water Saturday , if not then I will have to get the data the next weekend at Steel Creek .. I just don't want to push to hard and get tossed out ..

Just an update --
No good test runs yesterday at Joe Pool .. Water was HORRIBLE !!  Prop burned to 6600 pulled back to 5700 . The prop felt very smooth..  I  hit 90 pretty quick and had to back off and I thought I was over a 100 by how rough it was .. Prop and Strut clearance is good .. Plenty of room at 3/16..  The little suction cup mount for the Video Camera worked good .. No reason to post the video just to see  a 4-5 second runs of a wet boat and rough water .. We will try next Saturday on the river .. The engine sounds good . Can't wait to get this thing dialed in ..

I showed up shortly after Billy pulled his sled out of the water.....hated that I missed it.

I do plan on being at the Sand Bar on October 18th though....

Yes it is , No way to make a run out there .. I tried 4 launches and gave up after I made the last attempt and hit 90.No damage except me wanting to get some data ... Water there is so unstable .. Rusty and EO both could not run also .. Sorry you missed it Cliff , nothing really to watch , it did sound good though ..
