Man that sucks is it a local?

Yea, he is local & was recommended to me by a friend and he seemed to be a stand-up guy. I can understand being swamped with work and running behind (I am a little that way myself right now) but I can't deal with the lack of respect by being ignored and blown off. I wouldn't even be pissed if he couldn't get it done or just changed his mind about doing it period.........just tell me so I can get my stuff back and make plans accordingly!!! Sorry for the rant guys but this kind of crap really pisses me off!!!!!

We have all been there man. It sucks, and he needs to answer his phone and at least hand you your seats back. Swamped or not, you have to communicate with your customers.

Hey man....I know what you mean.

The first time I had my motor rebuilt, this guy I know insisted on building it for me.....and he seemed to know his stuff. After all the machine work was done, and he had all the parts, it took me two months to get it back. I heard one excuse after the next as to why he couldn't do it. Then when he did finally get around to building it, he installed the piston rods backwards (it can be done on a ford), he didn't install the oil pump drive rod, and all the oil galley plugs were left out of it.  During the time he had the motor, I'd ask him questions and he would rudely reply to me "I now what I'm going, don't ask me any fu$%en questions"..... man I was pissed. I finally got my motor back and had to tear it down.

So I totally understand that when people don't stick to their word, how difficult it is. Especially when you get the part to the guy early enough in the season, or even in the off season for that matter, so you'd have it in time to enjoy a full boating season yourself.....only to have them not live up to their word.

Hope there's resolution to your problem soon.

That sux man, hate to hear that kinda stuff. It ain't just upholstery guys that will pull that number on ya though. Guess some figure there is always someone waiting line so they don't really care if you are happy with them or not. That bit about not answering or responding back to you is BS, at least be man enough to say he can't do it or is too busy, spent the deposit, etc... A face to face meeting may be in order, make sure ya'll are on the same page and all that. Good luck with it either way, hope it gets resolved soon.

I might just end up with a thread being started on me by someone we all know because I was playing on the computer. :smile30:

It's Ok man, he's in no big hurry to get his boat back! He's still trying to figure out to scoop or not to scoop! :smile30:

Well, last week I finally got my untouched bucket seats back from the uphoulstery shop that had them for 7 months.  :smile15: A friend called me up to tell me the guy dropped them off at his house (I guess he didn't have the guts to give them back to me face to face). Yesterday, I took them to the new uphoulstery shop I think I will be doing a lot of future business with. He is the guy I sent John's new engine hatch to for the uphoulstery work on it. Not many of the shops we checked with even wanted to attempt doing the Scarab Beetle on his hatch and the ones that did were going to charge "a lot" of money for it. This guy did it in three colors from scratch and when all things are considered, I think he did a pretty good job at a very fair price. After my wife was complaining about constantly sliding out of the bass boat seats I stuck in the Glastron just to do RTC, I decided to cover and mount the factory buckets in it for now just to finish off what is left of the summer. I will do the rest of the interior over the winter when I take the boat apart again for paint. I will post some pics when I get them back. So far, I am pretty happy with the over all performance of the boat though. It rides and handles great for just being a 19ft boat and has not had even one small issue since firing up. (All 3.9hrs of run time) LOL!!!

Cool deal on finally getting your seats done. The engine cover on John's boat looked badass, I don't think you could go wrong with him. (hope I didn't just jinx you, lol) Boat looked good when I was running along behind ya, heard several people comment on it actually. Glad you finally got to get it out & enjoy it. :smile17:
