damnit, did I miss something here? We are talking rubrails, right? I remember doing the one on marty's cheyenne...it wasn't that bad....why are we talking different grades of aluminum? (lazy, didn't want to go back 10 pages, lol) :smile21:

It was actually pretty easy...started at the rear, and worked forward, at the tips of the sponsons, we had about 4 feet sticking forward, carfully bent and shaped it around the tips, and drilled/installed as we went. It met in the middle on the front of the boat. Hell, if me and marty can do it..... crazy.gif

There's some information that maybe helpful.  I don't know.   It's pretty typical of the government to give such vague information and tell you to figure it out.  If nothing else, it maybe interesting reading.  Page 12-15.  It may not really even apply due to the thickness of the rub rail.  http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgAdvisoryCircular.nsf/list/AC%2043.13-1B/$FILE/Chapter%2004.pdf

I would be more inclined to enlist Duane for some help.  :smile17:  He has experience.  :smile30:

I appreciate all the information.  I guess it is a just do it project.  We will see this spring how it looks.  Maybe I will work on the speed and no one will notice if I am moving fast enough. I repainted a truck a few years back and it looked great when traveling 70.  Or I will get Karol to ride topless and ya'll will not notice then either!

I am trying to get there.  I still have a long way to go.  I cannot wait to she how she will run turning 1500 more rpm's.  This is a whole lot different than building my 454's in the past.
