And for you big boys there's a big poker run in clear lake this weekend you can get all the details on offshore only.com I will be there with a few other boats also and it will be a huge party! There will be some BIG bad a$$ ride out there real cool to see 150+ mph 50' long boat run across the water also

Well its that time of the year, I guess! If there ever really is a time for us southerners! :smile16:
The Scarab is getting a make over been working on it for about two weeks now, so here our my plans! new carb'ed 500+ cubic In. pump gas BBC in the works now but might be a few more months, and I will leave the 509 in tell its finished! putting the 509 fuel inj in the corner when other motors complete.
As of now the trailer is in for a make over, kinda crazy the way i got the heavy a$$ boat off the trailer in my shied but it worked, come to find out everything on this trailer is in bad need of a overhaul, (you will see in a few pic) all brakes (4 Wheels two just have spindles) wiring, lights and bunks will be done along with a full sandblast and new coat paint!
next will come the boat! as of now me and momma want something simple as far as the paint go's, so..... we have decided to leave the same paint scheme and change all the colors, not gonna say how yet but there will be candy red, black and silver on the sides. the inside will come last if i get time before summer all seats will be redone and matched to the paint if not that might have to come later but will see how far i can get before summer! gotta have a boat ya know! lol
most of the heavy work will Begin after Christmas, gotta get that over with! lol

Looks like fun!!! LOL!! There was at least 3 miles still left in those brake shoes. Pads are over rated anyways. LOL!! Can't wait to see what you do for paint on the boat. It looks like the $1,800 paint job I put on it 16 yrs ago held up ok. One thing you might want to try when you pick a big boat up by straps like that is to put short 2x4's under the chine between the boat and strap to keep the strap out away from the paint. I used to do this because the straps will sometimes tear the paint up on the edge of the chine. Keep us posted on the progress. If you decide to change wheels, I would be interested in those.
