Have you checked into converting to disc brakes instead of drums? It is a lot better set up especially if it will ever be used in saltwater.

I would love to go to disc brakes just haven't found the right stuff yet, and wasn't sure if I could with the salt water it will see a lot seance that's mainly what's around me!

Disc brakes are way better than the drum especially in salt. I had nothing but trouble with the drum brakes on my Scarab trailer but never had an issue with the disk brakes on my Outlaw. If you plan to keep the boat for a long time it is well worth the money to convert it. I will never run drums again.

Cool I'm glad you told me I've been looking at several disc set ups and didn't now if I should pull the triger (wasn't sure they would hold up) now that I know when I go to McClain trailer here in town to get my parts I'll pick some up!

Next Q do you always run 2 axles with brakes are just one mine is set up with the front two with drums and the 3rd with just a spindle! Don't look like they did it all that great before!

Yes, most triple axle trailers I have seen are set up with four wheels with brakes and two idle. You will probably have to go to a larger piston set up for the surge actuator also. I don't think the one for the drum brakes will work for the disks. You will want to ask your Tailer people to be sure.

Also what about electric brakes can it be done and last?

That is what all the big boat trailers use. I have heard that electric over hydrolic is great option too but I have never owned a trailer with it.

I am not an expert on trailers by any means so I don't know what would be easiest or best but everyone that I know that converted from surge brakes to electric over hydrolic  brakes were really happy with it.

Man I wish you were closer cause I am probably going to have my trailer for the Tr2 sandblasted. It beats the heck out of sanding one!!!

I have installed E/Over Hyd. on several Goose Necks, they work great.
