I personally would leave the motor pretty much stock and dependable except maybe put a set of headers on it which might give you a couple mph (and a lot better sound). They will run you about $2,500 to $3,800 depending on what brand you go with. You would be better off to just hook a shop vac to your savings account rather than trying to make that boat go fast. If you do build enough power to make it run then you will be breaking drives every time you turn around at $6,000 or so a pop. You can buy and build a 120 mph tx-19 cheaper than you can make this boat go 75-78 mph. I would make it comfortable and nice and just enjoy this one and build your tx to go fast when you want speed. JMHO
X3 bravos aren't rated to that much power 475hp i think, your best bang fort the buck would be cut weight off the motor
you could get a imco scx out drive that is rated to 800hp tested to 1000hp and 800lbs of torque, but the complete upper is 8600, the helmet is 1K and a lower is like 2500 :smile13: :smile13: :smile13:
