What do yall think the max rpm that 502 can are will turn and still be safe  might just have to put the spear in it! Lol

I personally would leave the motor pretty much stock and dependable except maybe put a set of headers on it which might give you a couple mph (and a lot better sound). They will run you about $2,500 to $3,800 depending on what brand you go with.  You would be better off to just hook a shop vac to your savings account rather than trying to make that boat go fast. If you do build enough power to make it run then you will be breaking drives every time you turn around at $6,000 or so a pop. You can buy and build a 120 mph tx-19 cheaper than you can make this boat go 75-78 mph.  I would make it comfortable and nice and just enjoy this one and build your tx to go fast when you want speed. JMHO

X3  bravos aren't rated to that much power 475hp i think, your best bang fort the buck would be cut weight off the motor

you could get a imco scx out drive that is rated to 800hp tested to 1000hp and 800lbs of torque, but the complete upper is 8600, the helmet is 1K and a lower is like 2500  :smile13: :smile13: :smile13:

I went back and checked my props and all I have left is a 21 pitch 3 blade mirage and a lab finished 28 pitch 4 blade Mach I that came off my 26 Scarab with the blower motor. You are welcome to try the Mach I but I am pretty sure it will be too much.

I would love to ill try anything for power! Lol but not sure how to get it im headed to canyon lake memorial weekend with a bunch of are big boats and family!
Funny I wont be here Memorial weekend cause I am going to BCR (heading in your direction) while you are heading in mine.

Well we love it up there the place is awsome and we have been going there for three years now in the jets this will be the 4 but im taking the big boat not the jet!
talked to a friend that was out there this weekend still 6 ft down six ramps closed.  he said it was a packed lake.

I had those on mine and really like them. They were a little more labor to install but worth it on my boat. This is what they look like installed with the factory gauges. Put Livorsi's in it later.

Just blow that biotch up and tell your wife you are just gonna have to build a stronger motor for it  :smile30:

you have a tendency to keep rpms high in a I/O for longer periods of time, as opposed to a jet making passes, that 502 mpi is a flat tappet motor so i wouldn't spin it too fast no more than 5200-5300 as it sits, with no change to the motor youll have to go down in prop size, to get those rpms, but your mph will suffer

im assuming the engine bay is bone stock here, ditch the cast manifolds, captian's call exhaust if you have it, that in its self should cut about 100 plus pounds out the back,

fyi if you do have a captains call exhaust system and are set on keeping it i have a set of emi short risers that will work, as i recall they are a little scratched but not bad, it would save you some money.

with the selectable exhaust you cant get a big cam due to water reversion issues, just like a jet with too much water to the headers

of corse you probably already knew all this

the spear might eat that bravo for lunch

Yeah it has thunder ext. With straight chome pipes he has the captains exhaust that he gave if I wanted to put it back on but that ain't happening!

yes sir that is my plan just leave this 1 alone get what I can get out of the motor that's in it and cruise from there I like the fact that I'm not gonna have to work on my family boat and that's what I will buy the tx 19 for this to go fast are just keep the pickle fork but it's time for something new

That was what I liked about mine. I put A/C, a flat screen with dvd player and surround sound in the cabin of mine. We used to spend the weekend on the lake all the time sleeping on the boat. They are fun, just not real fast.

Of coarse if you decided to go the other way you could drop a pair of these in for only $70,000 each (plus drives of course). Just need to add a little more water to that money tree orchard I heard you have.

They quit making those back in the early 2000's. Your best bet is to build your own and swap out both sides.

I'll bet that gets great fuel economy, I'm sure you can cruise all day long on about $15 worth of fuel.  That is very impressive though.  clap.gif
