Stuff you need to switch over to an LSX platform.

How about paint the valve cover, coil packs, and brackets to match the boat's paint job and display your LS power with pride! Here's a couple of examples. Looks a whole lot easier to pull off too.

I guess I am kinda doing both . The valve covers are going to be painted to match the boat , but not the coils ans brackets .

Gonna need some metric to NPT adapters for the gauges to work. Found a place that sells them.

http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/9235_Metric_x_NPTF_Female_p/9235.htm

You will need a M16x1.5 Male Metric x 1/4" Female NPTF for the oil sender and a M12x1.5 Male Metric x 3/8" Female NPTF for the water temp sender. The oil adapter goes where the stock oil sender goes and can connect directy to your gauge as the computer doesn't use this info at all. The water sender has to go into the opposite head as the other water sensor because the stock one does send info to the computer.

James, Oreilly's shows to have the ones that sandeggo listed in the thread on PB.  They are not in the Rowlett store but they can have them by tomorrow.  It's like $12 total for all of them.

WOW - I don't check in for a little while (3 months) and look at what all I missed.

I didn't read all of this, so where are you at on this now Blaze?

What do you have left to do? I bet I have a boat load (pun intended) of part numbers and sources for whatever you are still looking for.

BTW - got one last run by myself in before it got bitter cold...80-81 mph with just me and 20 gallons of fuel. The GPS hit 81...but kind of fluttered between 80-81 for a while, so if anything it's probably 81.1

I still need to find exhaust for mine.  I will either build some, or order the logs from Australia if I don't find a better option soon.

What type exhaust do you want/need (water injected through transom, logs, water injected over transom, jacketed through transom)? Price range?

I really want log type exhaust , because I plan on adding a few turbos in the future and don't want to have to change the exhaust when I upgrade .

Do you have an enclosed engine compartment? If not...you don't *really* want jacketed logs for turbos, simply because the more heat you can keep in the exhaust the better the turbo works.

The guys running the twin turbo setups over on Preformance Boats have been having problems with too much heat in the headers , thats why I was thinking logs . Might be a better setup , not sure .

What are the problems they are having? Cracking headers, or other issues?

Headers getting too hot to be that close to the fiberglass . I know Haas had to build heat shields for his because it was making so much heat .

That may be true...I was referring to the fact that the turbos themself work better without jacketing. C5 or C6 manifolds upside down would work very well in most boats. I may be wrong, but I don't see how those manifolds upside down could hurt fiberglass. If they did, they'd melt parts of the engine first (sensors, composite intake, plug wires, etc.)

BUT - if you for sure need jacketed for turbos then you would either be looking for 351C logs, or Indmar/Crusader/etc I/O stuff. You probably already knew that, though.

SBF ? I only heard about being able to use the 351 Cleveland ones , and they are really hard to come by .
