Here it is. If I am wrong so are all the people that have called it a Jet-O-Vator!

That's a Jet-O-Vator. The up/down pivot is in front of the left right pivot. From what I've read that's the easiest way to tell the difference.

Look again.  That is an old Place diverter.  Steering is in front of the trim.

Yeah, that's what I said. The steering is in front of the trim making it not a Jet-O-Vator.. LOL

Don't know what the hell I was looking at the first time. Must have sniffed too much freon today.

just thought i would throw this in here, my 12jf "jetovator" is nothing likt the old ones, my trim is after the steering, it actually hooks to the rudder off of the bottom.which looks like it makes it super easy to convert to manual. see the hole to the front of the rudder...that is where my cable mounts.

Cool.  It's just kinda hard to see in that diagram how the trim works.  I thought maybe an actual picture would help me understand.

Looks like the two Kenny posted are different from each other.  The bottom looks like what I have seen with a label on the control that says "Jet-O-Vator".  The top one looks different  I still don't see how it trims.  I see it on the pics Orange posted.  Its that third cable on the very bottom that hooks right to the reverse outlet.  Interesting stuff.  Would that still be a "Jet-O-Vator" or was it called something else?

the top one devilman posted is the same as the ones i posted and the same that i have, it also uses the same jetovator electric worm drive inside of the boat.to understans how it works you would have to have it in your hand and tae it apart, thats how i learned about it.

the piece that says "berkeley" swivels side to side on the bowl, te piece that has the reverse cup on it mounts to the piece that says "berkeley" so everything moves side to side off of the bowl.

i know mine is the latest design before the most current one that they sell now.

So this then is a JET-O-VATOR Because it Trims then Steers correct?

I see that one is considered better than the other as far as performance, Why is that?

BIG A$$ Rudder ain't it!

I would consider them all diverters.  Place is a brand.

the research i've done,  and if anyone can correct me please do,  but the JF jet a vator was created to trim the boat,  like anyother inboard/outboard would do,  so if a person wanted to see a bad ass rooster tail,  then the jetavator would need mods,  not saying some place diverters don't need mods,  just saying...

Can you wedge the bowl for the jet-o-vator to roost? That's the only way I can see it working. Maybe by modding some irreplaceable brackets... UGH! Another way to get a Jet-O-Vator to roost is to unbolt the bowl and everything from the pump and sell it on Ebay, then get a newer bowl that will take a Place Diverter. Nostalgia guys will probably pay good money for a full working Jet-O-Vator set up.

Mine roosted good before, but the droop gave it even more wedge, now the roost is ENORMOUS, even on 7 cylinder!! LOL

I don't know if it did any good,  but someone modded the jetovator that I have to make it roost higher.  The pics are a page or two back in this thread.

i heard you can notch the nozzle to make them roost, i dont care if mine does, id rather it trim to get the boat out of the water.
