Stuff you need to switch over to an LSX platform.

I think you might be mistaking the stock motor thing . Just because he uses a unmodified engine doesnt mean he will not add more power through tuning , improved air flow , etc . There is alot to gain with these motors without going into the internals .

Get on the ball James! You only have a few months lol!

Ni kidding....these projects typically take longer than planned and before you know it, April will be here and we'll be ramping up for the 2012 lake season!!

I will bet anybody $100 that if he puts a stock LS 5.3 in his boat that it will not turn a B impeller 6,000rpm with the pump setup right.

The real test will actually getting the "stock" motor in and running, then comparing those numbers to the 460. The best RPM the 460 turned in my boat was 5,400 on a 150 nitrous shot, 4,800 stock, and 5,100 with the first aluminum head motor that was never quite right. If the 5.3 can beat 4,800rpm that'll be sweet, but I think it'll get 5,000 without too much trouble.

I'll try to get the motor later this week, then gotta get more funding (my December retirement check) for all the shit to hook it up. Prolly ought to pull the in tank fuel pump when I get the motor too.

Right now the plan is to have Sean's laptop connected to it doing the tune in January on a water hose, then winterize it till it hits the water.

Speaking of 2012, anyone made their reservations for Broken Bow yet? We should get that whole group of cabins over by where Matt and Chad stayed last time.

If you have tanks with flat tops it would be cool to run the GM fuel pump , just gotta figure out where to run the vent line that normally goes to the canister .

My boat has one 30 gallon tank that's about as rectangle as they come!! The hole in the top may very well be the correct size also. It resides in the bow where there is plenty of room for the canister.

July 4th weekend.

The lake has the clearest fresh water I think I've ever boated in.

It's funny that we been talking about LS motors this morning and I just got a phone call from my buddy with the blown LS and he asked me to drive a front engine rail that use to be my moms next season in the Texas Blown Fuel class. And yes it will be a 400+ ci LS . We should be testing it by march.

If I enjoy myself as much as I did in Tawakoni, "I'm in"  jump.gif

4th of July weekend Henry. We all stayed in the same neighborhood last time. It was a blast. The water is amazing there. Take your boat hull all dirty and it will be as shiny as new when you pull it out after a day of boating. The bottom of my boat never looked so good.

EDIT: Damn, 4th of July is on Wednesday this year. Someone will have to get in contact with Choppy to see what weekend they're going. We could take a 10 day vacation and stay for both weekends, before and after. LOL
